Services

Please note, all sessions are currently by video or phone, due to the coronavirus. This also means that I can see you if you are living anywhere in Australia.

Individual Counselling and Psychotherapy

I provide individual therapy sessions for adults who would like non-judgmental support, a new perspective on their circumstances, and evidence-based approaches to psychological difficulties

Personal and mental health issues that I work with include:

  • anxiety
  • depression
  • relationship difficulties
  • family issues
  • grief and loss
  • adjustment
  • stress management
  • self worth
  • assertiveness and boundaries
  • coping with queerphobia
  • personal growth
  • increasing self compassion

I am trained in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) mindfulness meditation and self compassion, psychodynamic, existential and humanistic therapeutic approaches.

I am not able to work with severe eating disorders, domestic violence, alcohol or substance use, or acute suicidality, as I am often not available between sessions, and these issues generally require medical support and more intensive, specialised services. I also work only with adults, so I see people aged 17 and older.

Relationship Counselling (Couples, Dyads and Polycules)

I have training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), which can help people who have found themselves lost in difficult cycles of communication. EFT allows people to regain a sense of safety in their relationship. This approach is evidence-based with research demonstrating its effectiveness. It has a high threshold for safety, which means I cannot do this form of relationship therapy where there is domestic abuse.

I welcome relationships, dyads, polycules and couples of all genders, sexualities, bodies and neurotypes. I also welcome complex relationship structures including polyamory (hierarchical, non-hierarchical and solo), monogamy, monogamish, open relationships, relationship anarchy or however you have customised your relationships between enthusiastically consenting adults. I strive to work anti-oppressively with people marginalised because of their sexualities, bodies, genders and relationship structures.

I offer sessions by video, and have found that people seeking relationship counselling may find online sessions easier to schedule and attend, as there is no commute, you’re in your own space, and childcare may be less of an issue.

I love working with relationships and have regular and ongoing supervision and additional training in relationship therapy.

Supervision

I am Counselling Psychology Endorsed and have been a Board Approved Supervisor since 2013. I can provide supervision to counselling psychology registrars or any psychologists or counsellors who wish to increase their skills and knowledge in working with the queer/ LGBTIQA+ community.

If you would like to work together, you are welcome to book online.
